About
Vienna Waltz Orchestra is an ensemble led from the violin by Lei Chen (Lui Chan), playing Strauss waltz programmes at New Year and year-end concerts. Its players come from the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Symphony.
Since 2002 the Vienna Waltz Orchestra has presented its own series of New Year's Eve and New Year concerts, and it has played the Sunday matinees at the Brucknerhaus Linz. Its musicians come from the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Vienna Volksoper and the Vienna Symphony, joined by German and Austrian soloists and chamber musicians.
The ensemble was founded and is directed by violinist and conductor Lei Chen (Lui Chan), who plays, conducts and hosts the evening. Over the years the orchestra has worked with artists such as Michael Martin Kofler, Milan Turkovic, Roland Batik and Daniela Barcellona.
