Thilo Reuther, born in 1964, studied stage design with Achim Freyer at the Hochschule der Künste Berlin and graduated as his master student. Since 1994 he has been stage designer and lighting designer for Opera, drama and dance. In recent years he has worked mainly with the directors Sebastian Baumgarten, Hasko Weber, Hermann Schmidt-Rahmer, Jan Jochymski and the choreographers Anna Huber and Sasha Waltz, among others in Berlin, Essen, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Zurich, Paris and St. Petersburg. Teaching assignments led him to the Kunsthochschule Weißensee Berlin and the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" Berlin.
2008 and currently in 2013 he is nominated in the category of stage design for the German theatre prize THE FAUST. In 2013 he was invited to the theater meeting in Berlin with the production "St. Johanna of the slaughterhouses" (Schauspielhaus Zürich) in the direction of Sebastian Baumgarten.
After "Dido and Aeneas" and "Medea", "Sacre" is the third collaboration with Sasha Waltz, to be seen at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin.
