The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra*(Czech:Pražský Filharmonický Orchestra) was founded in 1995 under the direction of the German conductor Friedemann Riehle.
The Prague Philharmonic Orchestra*(Czech:Pražský Filharmonický Orchestra) was founded in 1995 under the direction of the German conductor Friedemann Riehle. Since then, the orchestra has released numerous recordings of classical music and film soundtracks, collaborating with labels such as Decca, EMI, Sony BMG, as well as with various international film studios. Internationally renowned soloists such as tenor Jonas Kaufmann and cellist Sol Gabetta have recorded with the orchestra.
The orchestra performs New Year's concerts conducted by Riehle, and also gives concerts at the Vienna State Opera, in all major concert halls in Germany, at the Royal Concert Hall in Amsterdam and at a special concert that was broadcast worldwide from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. [1][2] The orchestra has also performed with Paul Terracini as a guest conductor.
