Jana Beckmann was born in Bremen, studied dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, applied theatre studies / choreography in Buenos Aires as well as music and philosophy in Oldenburg. As a dramaturge, she worked at the Goethe Institute Buenos Aires (2009 to 2011), the tanzhaus Zürich, Kampnagel, the Hamburg state Opera as well as Director of the music theatre "Eunus" in the resonance region of Hamburg and for the documentary music theatre project, "Las Calles del Guasmo" in Ecuador. At the International theatre festival for New drama "Dramaturgias Cruzadas" in Buenos Aires, she worked for the Goethe Institute as a Translator.
