Ingo Krügler studied costume and fashion design in Berlin and London and worked for Gaultier and John Galliano in Paris.
He assisted u. a. in Vienna, Paris (Bastille) as well as at the festivals in Munich and Salzburg with Michael Haneke, David Alden, David Pountney, Gottfried Pilz and Stefan Herheim. Since then he works as a freelance costume designer. In 2004 he worked for the first time at the Bavarian State Opera. He has been closely associated with Calixto Bieito since the time of Jenůfa at the Stuttgart Opera, such as Ibsen's Fire in Oslo, Lulu, From a Death House and Otello at the Theater Basel, Gianni Schicchi, The Freischütz and Dialogues of Carmélites at the Komische Oper Berlin and Voices at Bergen Festival. At the Bavarian State Opera, he designed the costumes for Fidelio, Boris Godunov and La Juive.
