About
Anna Samuil made her debut as Violetta at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in 2003 and has been a soloist at the House since 2004.
Since then she has been here as Donna Anna, Fiordiligi, Contessa, Tatiana, Mimì, Musetta, Adina, Micaëla, Elisabetta, Agathe, Rosalinde, Ariadne and Elsa. Her career led her to many important stages in the world: the Teatro alla Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, The State Opera in Munich, Dresden and Hamburg, as well as the opera houses in Valencia, Tokyo, Lyon and Pittsburgh.
As a guest she celebrated great successes at the Salzburg Festival and the International Festival in Aix-en-Provence, Edinburgh, Glyndebourne, Verbier, the Arena di Verona and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. She has worked extensively with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Sir Neville Marriner, Lorin Maazel, Antonio Pappano, Plácido Domingo and Kirill Petrenko. Anna Samuil studied singing at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Irina Arkhipova. She is a prizewinner of international vocal competitions such as the Tchaikovsky competition, and "New voices" as well as the competitions, "Franco Corelli" and "Riccardo Zandonai". She performed concerts and recitals at the Royal Opera House and BBC Proms in London, the Palais des Beaux-Arts Bruxelles, the Berlin Waldbühne and Cologne Philharmonic, the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, Kissinger Sommer and Rheingau music Festival. Anna Samuil was honored with the Daphne prize of the theatre community of Berlin in 2008 for her outstanding achievements.
