Born in Mexico, Alfredo Daza is a member of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, and has appeared in Berlin in several leading roles such as Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello in La Bohème, Yelestsky in Pique Dame, Germont in La traviata, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly and Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Ford in Falstaff, Posa in Don Carlos, as well as Valentin in Faust. He also recently debuted the role of Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera. Daza has also appeared in several new productions in Berlin. He sang Lescaut in Manon with Anna Netrbko and Rolando Villazon under Daniel Barenboim, the Poet in Il Turco in Italia and Ping in Turandot.

In the 2012/2013 season, Alfredo Daza returned to the Hamburg State Opera as Sir Robert Cecil in Britten’s Gloriana, and in the world premier of Dulce Rosa with the LA Opera Off Grand as Tadeo Cespedes. Engagements for the 2013/2014 season include a return to the Hamburg State Opera as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly.

In recent seasons Mr. Daza has appeared with many leading companies throughout the world appearing as Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia in Los Angeles and in Washington, DC, and as Schaunard in La bohème in Brussels under the direction of Antonio Pappano. He made his debut at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna as Ford in Falstaff under James Conlon and was heard in the same role at the Hamburg State Opera under Simone Young. He has also appeared in Hamburg as Yeletsky and Count Almaviva and as Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia in Koln. In the summer of 2009 Daza made his Glyndebourne debut as Belcore in L’Elisir D’Amore.

Daza has also performed the role of Dandini in La cenerentola at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and has sung Valentin in Faust and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Lescaut in Manon at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste conducted by Daniel Oren. He appeared as Marcello in a new production of La bohème with the New York City Opera with Rolando Villazon that was telecast live throughout the United States. Alfredo Daza has also performed the role of Schaunard in La bohème with the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and with the San Francisco Opera.
