Teatro Astor Piazzolla is located in the Galleria General Guemes, also known as Pasaje Guemes. A late Art Nouveau building, that has a 116 meters long interior pedestrian passage, linking Florida and San Martin streets. It was the first building of Buenos Aires built entirely in reinforced concrete, it is also considered the first skyscraper of de city. It was inaugurated on December 15, 1915 and its name reminds General Martin Miguel de Guemes, hero of the war of the Argentine Independence.
