Caramoor Summer Music Festival 2026

The Caramoor Summer Music Festival 2026 invites audiences to experience classical music in one of the most enchanting cultural landscapes near New York. From June 20 to August 2, 2026, the historic Caramoor estate in Katonah, New York, becomes a vibrant summer destination where exceptional performances, beautiful gardens, and architectural elegance create an atmosphere unlike any traditional concert hall.

Programme
Gioachino Rossini: L'italiana in Algeri (The Italian Girl in Algiers): overture
Samuel Barber: Violin Concerto, Op.14
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symphony no. 41 in C major, "Jupiter”, K551
Overview

The Orchestra of St. Luke’s returns to close out the summer season led by the dynamic Xian Zhang. This program reunites the orchestra with world-renowned violinist Gil Shaham, a long-time Caramoor favorite whose numerous appearances here dates back to 1994.

The afternoon features Shaham’s definitive interpretation of Barber’s Violin Concerto, a work of inherent sweetness and playfulness. Framed by the wit of Rossini’s L'italiana in Algeri Overture and the majestic architecture of Mozart’s ("Jupiter") Symphony, the concert offers a masterclass in both lyrical intimacy and orchestral grandeur.

Venue Info

Venetian Theater - Katonah
Location   149 Girdle Ridge Road

Caramoor’s largest and signature music venue takes its name from the historic arches and columns that provide a striking backdrop for our live concerts. This fully tented space, surrounded by greenery, offers a beautiful setting for performances.

Built in the style of a Venetian courtyard, the theatre reflects the artistic vision behind Caramoor — a place where music, architecture, and nature exist in harmony. Its graceful design, intimate scale, and warm atmosphere create a special connection between artists and audiences, allowing every performance to feel both grand and personal.

During the Caramoor Summer Music Festival, the Venetian Theater hosts some of the festival’s most anticipated events, welcoming internationally renowned orchestras, conductors, soloists, and vocal artists. The open-air setting is particularly suited to symphonic concerts, opera performances, and large-scale musical celebrations, where the surrounding landscape becomes part of the experience.

As evening falls and the gardens surrounding the theatre glow in the soft light, concerts at the Venetian Theater take on a unique charm. The combination of exceptional artistry, historic surroundings, and the peaceful beauty of the Hudson Valley creates an atmosphere unlike any traditional concert hall.

The venue embodies the spirit of Caramoor: a celebration of musical excellence in an environment that encourages discovery, inspiration, and connection. Whether experiencing a powerful orchestral work or an intimate vocal performance, visitors become part of a cultural tradition that has flourished for decades.
