At the beginning of the 21st century, during the reconstruction of Qianmen Street , the Tianyuan Theater Building was rebuilt on the original site of the People's Theater. On August 18, 2012, the Tianyuan Theater was re-opened and became the grand finale of the third Qianmen History and Culture Festival. The first repertoire of Tianle Paradise is "Three Stories of Love", which integrates Kunqu Opera , Peking Opera and Yue Opera , making Li Huiniang in " Red Plum Pavilion Fang Pei", Du Liniang in " Peony Pavilion : A Quiet Counseling", " Oolong Courtyard " Yan Xijiao in "Catch Alive" appeared on the same stage.
According to Ge Junkai, director of the Qianmen Street Management Committee, Tianyuan did not find sufficient relevant architectural materials during the restoration, so a designer was hired to design the appearance of Tianyuan according to the style of old Beijing theater buildings from the 1920s to 1930s. The newly built Tianyuan Theater Building has a gray exterior wall and is a two-story building. There are three large characters of "Tianyuan" carved in stone on the facade. A wooden plaque of "Tianyuan Theater Building" is hung above the gate. In the Tianyuan Theater Building, the first floor has luxurious VIP seats and soft chairs, which can accommodate more than 170 people at the same time, and the second floor has 5 balcony boxes, which can accommodate nearly 30 people at the same time. The Tianleyuan Theater Building is connected with the neighboring Wu Yutai Neifu Cuisine and Guandi Temple Tea House.
