It's known for sandy beaches like Camburi and Curva da Jurema. The city center features the 20th-century Metropolitan Cathedral, with stained-glass windows. Nearby, the decaying Santa Luzia Chapel dates back to the 16th century. By the Santa Maria River is the grand Anchieta Palace, home to the state government.
