Ubatuba is a coastal municipality in Brazil’s São Paulo state, surrounded by the rainforest of the Serra do Mar National Park.
Itamambuca Beach, in the northeast, is known for its strong surf. The waters around Anchieta Island provide a feeding area for sea turtles. In Ubatuba, the TAMAR Project protects the turtles and has a visitor center with tanks. More marine creatures are on display at Ubatuba Aquarium.
