Olden is a small village with a population of about 500 people. It is located in at the mouth of the Oldeelva river, an area known for its stunning beauty.
The town centre has a variety of cafes, grocery stores, clothing shops and a cruise ship port. Venture out of town and you will find a large number of attractions that are well worth visiting, such as the Oldevatnet lake which is surrounded by roaring waterfalls and steep mountains. Other notable sites include Jodestal, the largest glacier on mainland Europe, while a visit the Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre will take you back in time to the ice age. The area around Olden is also a paradise for hiking lovers and some of the must-do activities include the hike up to the Huaren viewpoint, from which you can enjoy a stunning view over Olden and the Nordfjord.
