The city of Ladenburg is allocated in the southwest of Germany and around 11 km from Heidelberg. Its situation next to the river Neckar allows a lot of activities in nature such as trekking or kayaking.
But also, the city itself is worth a visit!It dates back to the Celtic and Roman Ages. Nowadays, the historical old town is lovely renovated and invites to stroll along the narrow streets and the typical "Fachwerkhäuser" from the Late Middle Ages. You will discover beautiful alleys and squares, original pubs and hotels, art galleries, and artist ateliers.Last but not least, you definitely should visit the Automobile Museum Dr. Carl Benz. He, the inventor of the first automobile, and his wife lived in Ladenburg beginning of the 20th century. You still can visit the factory, the former house of the couple and their tumb.
