Imatra is a beautiful Finnish city based on the south-eastern Finnish border with Russia.
Popular with people from all over the world, it is dominated by the stunning Lake Saimaa, the largest lake in Finland. Imatra provides the perfect opportunity for a relaxing retreat with many nature spots, forests, parks and is well known for its abundance of traditional Scandinavian style spas. Check out the famous Art Nouveau hotel Valtionhotelli, also known as Imatra Castle, built in the heart of the city in 1903. Other attractions include the River Vuoksi Dam and in the summer the city comes alive with the sounds and flavours of an international jazz festival that sees around 50,000 visitors.
