Diana Vishneva`s Context festival

In its first year, the festival attracted 2,000 spectators, and in 2016 the audience amounted to more than 9,000 people. Among the venues of the festival are the Mariinsky Theater and the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater, the Gogol Center, the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, the Mossovet Theater, and the Documentary Film Center.

This piece was premiered as a choreographic miniature at the Young Choreographers’ Competition Context. Diana Vishneva 2017, and won the first prize. и стала его победителем. In the same format It was presented in Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Hamburg, Bern (TanzplatformBern 2018), Vitebsk (IFMC), etc. During SUMMERSPACE Residence in ОК16 space in Minsk, the piece was developed into a full-scale production and premiered on September 8 and 9, 2018.

“This piece deals with the concept of air which we are trying to investigate in various semantic fields. On the one hand, this is a space for desire, striving and inner freedom, on the other hand – distinct non-existence, emptiness that requires filling. What happens if the air disappears? What are we ready to do in extreme conditions to take one more breath?”, —Ilya Kozak.

CONTEXT OPEN is the initiative of Context. Diana Vishneva Festival aiming to assist choreographers to integrate into the world choreographic environment and find a harmonious way of existеnce in it. Choreographers, dancers and companies without any age, national, genre or educational limitations receive an opportunity to present their works within this project. The best works selected by the committee of experts will become part of the Context. Diana Vishneva Festival programme.

"Sevkabel Port" is a new project aimed at renovation of old facilities and historic buildings and turning them into a modern multifunctional creative space at the waterfront.

Our purpose is to create high-quality urban settings and improve living standards at the harbor of Vasilevskiy Island.

We tried to preserve and restore monuments of industrial architecture, because we value historical artifacts and want to emphasize the "memory of the place."

Main point of attraction is the promenade with beautiful views of Golf of Finland, Marine Station and ZSD bridge.

The project based on the historical territory of the factory on the coast of the Gulf of Finland

Sevkabel Factory

"Sevkabel" factory is the initiator and investor of the project. The first cable factory in Russia was founded in 1879 as a factory of Siemens & Halske trading house.
