Sounds of the Dolomites 2019

The mountains take center stage in one of the most charming music festivals of Trentino. Sounds of the Dolomites, now at its 25 edition, takes place from June 28 to September 15. International musicians and artists will perform in the outdoors, near huts, refuges, forts and beautiful locations which can be reached on foot along well-marked paths, with shows starting at dawn and ending late at night.

The love for music and for the mountains, for art and nature, all in one festival!

A series of important events with famous Italian and international artists will follow.

Overview

From classical to jazz with traditional Russian instruments

This extraordinary group gained worldwide attention when they won the M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition in the United States in 2017. Since then they have won over public and critics with unforgettable performances that probe the extraordinary potential of traditional Russian instruments - such as balalaika, domra and accordion - in their exploration of every musical style from jazz to tango, folk to classical.

Their concerts take their audiences on a journey into the world and into the Russian soul that has always had ties to traditional as well as great classical music. What Russian Renaissance do, however, is take a further step forward, reaching out wholeheartedly to the world’s most diverse music, so that when we refer to their work we now talk about “World music with a Russian soul”.

From Molveno
- take the cable car and chairlift till Rifugio la Montanara and than walk downhill 15 mins to Malga Tovre
- with cablecar and than on foot, 15 mins direction Rifugio La Montanara, to Malga Tovre

From Andalo
with car till Maso Cadin and, on the forest track, till Pradel-Valbiole (car park) then on foot

The Rifugio La Montanara is located in Molveno on the Pradel Plateau (altitude: 1600 meters) in the tourist area Paganella - Brenta Dolomites which are UNESCO natural heritage.

A well-kept corner of paradise where you can spend moments of absolute relaxation savoring tasty dishes that represent the combination of tradition and innovation. The Sartori family welcomed the first guest way back in 1973. Little has changed since then. Life at the shelter follows the rhythms of nature, dishes are made at home with fresh produce from the area and the season and patrons come to this enchanted place to relax, abandoning the stress downstream, and to enjoy the silence that only the mountain knows how to give. Over the years we have renovated our rooms to meet the needs of all travelers, while trying not to damage the genuine spirit and alpine atmosphere that have always distinguished us.
