Rector's Palace Atrium
The Rector of Dubrovnik used to live in this palace during the time of his one month’s mandate, alone, without his family. The Rector’s Palace was also the seat of the Small Council, i.e., the Dubrovnik government.
In the place of the present palace there used to be a smaller castle that got completely destroyed in powered explosions several times and it was shaken by earthquakes. However, the Rector’s palace got its today’s appearance in Gothic and Renaissance periods in the 15th century. Rector's Palace is historical cultural museum today and its atrium is one of the most common places where classical concerts and recitals are held.
