Raffaella Giordano was born in Turin and worked from 1980 to 1984 under the choreographer Carolyn Carlson in the company Teatro e Danza La Fenice in Venice. Subsequently, she gained experience in Pina Bausch's Wuppertal dance theater and the company of L’Equisse in France. She is co-founder of the Sosta Palmizi group, founded in 1985 and based in Turin, since 1995 in Cortona, Tuscany. Since 1986 she has created numerous group and Solo choreographies, including "Fiordalisi"... et anima mea ...", "Senza titolo", "Tu non mi perderai mai", "Cuocere il mondo" and "L'incontro" in collaboration with Maria Muñoz and their dance company Mal Pelo. Over time, she has worked with numerous directors and authors on contemporary theatre, opera and film projects, especially in films and opera productions by Mario Martone. Since 2016, it has been part of the "Action" project with artists from Tuscany to promote a teaching network. 2016 Raffaella Giordano played the main role in Di Costanzo's film "L'intrusa" and developed the choreography to Paul Hindemith's "Sancta Susanne", staged by Mario Martone at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. In 2017 she made her debut with her solo work "Celeste – appunti per Natura" at Autunno Danza in Cagliari and worked as a choreographer for Martone's Film "Capri-Batterie".
