In early summer 2023, the two-time Academy Award® winner will return to Europe with his smash-hit tour.

The O2 Arena Prague is proud to be able to announce the continuation of Hans Zimmer’s smash-hit tour even as he celebrates unforgettable, triumphant successes in front of sell-out crowds night after night in the largest concert arenas across Europe. From May 2023, the rock star of film composers will return with his outstanding live band and orchestra for the “Hans Zimmer Live – Europe Tour 2023”. The arena tour comprising 24 concerts in 15 countries will make stops in Portugal, Spain and Slovakia, among others, with new dates scheduled in Germany as well.

The Academy Award®, Golden Globe and Grammy winner Hans Zimmer and his team have worked on the arrangements and the impressive production for a full fifteen months to create an absolutely unique live experience for the fans. In addition to a ground-breaking sound and light show, his nineteen-strong band, Hans Zimmer himself and the Odessa Opera Orchestra & Friends will showcase the Hollywood composer’s worldwide successes using three hundred different instruments. The twelve newly arranged concert suites include GLADIATOR, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, BATMAN, INTERSTELLAR, THE LION KING and DUNE. For that score, Zimmer received the news that he had won his second Oscar during his tour stop in Amsterdam at the end of March.

Hans Zimmer has scored more than 200 projects across all mediums, which, combined, have grossed more than 28 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Zimmer has been honored with two Academy Awards®, three Golden Globes®, three Grammys®, an American Music Award, and a Tony® Award. His work highlights include Dune, No Time to Die, Gladiator, The Thin Red Line, As Good as It Gets, Rain Man, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Thelma and Louise, The Last Samurai, 12 Years A Slave, Blade Runner 2049 (co-scored w/ Benjamin Wallfisch) and Dunkirk, as well as recent film scores including Wonder Woman 1984, Ron Howard’s Hillbilly Elegy and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. Most recently, Zimmer won the Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures for Dune. O2 Arena is a multi-purpose arena, in Prague, Czech Republic. It is home to HC Sparta Prague of the Czech Extraliga and is the second-largest ice hockey arena in Europe. It is also host stage shows, such as concerts, and other large-scale events.

The O2 arena is one of the leading facilities in Europe with a capacity of up to 20,000. Every year, the O2 arena hosts dozens of attractive sporting and cultural events. It was opened in 2004 for the ice-hockey championship and since that time it has welcomed over 600,000 people every year.

The O2 arena is located in north-eastern Prague, approximately 10 km from the city centre. It occupies an advantageous position between the interior road ring, which provides comfortable transport from other sections of the city, and the external ring road, which allows a quick connection to the outgoing motorway and the international highway network.

The O2 arena offers more than fourty spatial, functional or technical variations of the stage surface and the auditorium. At a large rock concert, the O2 arena can host up to 20,000 spectators. The latest technology available at the O2 arena include, e.g., a giant video cube, internal TV circuit, display facades, its own TV studio, sliding stands, excellent acoustics, light park and advanced telecommunication equipment.

In addition to the standard auditorium, the O2 arena offers non public floors for skybox and club seat tenants. It also features business areas with necessary facilities, a number of lounges, restaurants and bars along with seminar facilities, press conference rooms and congress halls.
