Martin Gruber was born in 1957 and is a choreographer and Director. He practiced various Asian martial arts and published numerous articles on acting and movement. Since 2010 he has been a Professor at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" Berlin.
In 1994 he choreographed at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin Strauss '"Elektra" under the direction of Daniel Barenboim and directed by Dieter Dorn. He also worked with this in 1994 for the production of Shakespeare's " Der Sturm "at the Münchner Kammerspiele and in 1996 for the world premiere of" Ithaka " by Botho Strauß at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Gruber was for the project development and direction of the Play "Beijing lan – Beijing is blue" as well as for the theatre project "dialogues on Love. A street Opera," is responsible. Both were produced television documentaries. In 2006, as a director, he participated in Dieter Dorn's production of "die Bakchen" by Euripides at the Residenztheater München.

Also in the season 2017/18 he works as a co-director alongside Dieter Dorn an "Parsifal" with the Berliner Philharmoniker at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.
