Manos Hadjidakis was a Greek composer, pianist, and conductor, one of the most important figures in modern Greek music. He is internationally known for blending classical music with Greek folk traditions.
He won an Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Original Song for “Never on Sunday” (1960), which brought him worldwide recognition. His music ranges from orchestral works and film scores to songs and theatrical compositions, often characterized by lyrical beauty and emotional depth.
