Sounds of the Dolomites 2019

The mountains take center stage in one of the most charming music festivals of Trentino. Sounds of the Dolomites, now at its 25 edition, takes place from June 28 to September 15. International musicians and artists will perform in the outdoors, near huts, refuges, forts and beautiful locations which can be reached on foot along well-marked paths, with shows starting at dawn and ending late at night.

The love for music and for the mountains, for art and nature, all in one festival!

A series of important events with famous Italian and international artists will follow.

Campiglio Special Week

A guitarist with a musical pedigree, Yamandu Costa is the son of singer Clari Marcon and guitarist and trumpeter Algacir Costa. He took up the seven-string guitar at a very young age and at just seventeen he was already a Brazilian guitar sensation. With an astounding ability to combine absolute virtuosity with profound emotion, he is universally acknowledged to be an extraordinary exponent of this instrument.

Costa’s numerous national and international honours include a Latin Grammy nomination for his 2010 album “Luz da Aurora”, winner of the 2012 Cubadisco International Prize in Cuba with “Mafuá”, and a mention at the Alba awards for his album “Lida”. His repertoire ranges from choro to samba, and includes music of his native land, Rio Grande do Sul, where the proximity of the Argentine border gives rise to fascinating musical fusions of great originality. He has appeared in practically every country in the world and has performed as soloist with eminent symphony orchestras, including the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre National de France under the direction of Kurt Masur.

HOW TO GET THERE

from Passo Campo Carlo Magno take the Grostè cable car to the intermediate station and from there continue on foot following the signs for the Festival

from Passo Campo Carlo Magno take the forest road running alongside the golf course lake and when you get to the intersection with the Malga Montagnoli path follow the signs for the Festival

Departure on asphalt in the direction of C. Carlo Magno. Beyond the pass, where the first section of the cableway to the Grosté starts, a narrow road, crossing the plain of the Charlemagne, leads to the other side of the valley until it crosses another road (Malga C. Carlo Magno) which, towards the right with clear indications, leads to the Ref. Montagnoli and Graffer. After about 1 km uphill, near the junction for the Montagnoli Refuge, leave the asphalt and continue straight on the dirt road for the Graffer. At the next junction, turn left for the M.ga Vagliana. Beyond Malga Vaglianella, the slope increases considerably and after about 1 km you reach Malga Vagliana in a very thick dolomitic amphitheater.

The return is on the same route as far as the Malga C. Carlo Magno where on the right we go to the Malga Mondifra and then, downhill on a dirt road, the valley goes down for about km1.5 where at a junction, we leave the main dirt road that leads to at Dimaro, turn left, pass a small bridge over the Meledrio Torrent and return to the state road 239 about 500 meters below the Genziana hotel.
