24340 Altenhof (near Eckernförde)The Altenhof Kuhhaus is a unique cultural venue located on the historic Altenhof estate in Schleswig-Holstein, near the Baltic coast. Once part of a traditional manor farm complex, this beautifully restored former cowshed has been transformed into an атмосферный event space where history, architecture, and music come together in an unexpectedly elegant way.
An impressive row of oak trees leads to the historically preserved grounds at Altenhof, whose origin dates back to the 15th century. The castle-like manor near the Eckernförder Bay is an excellent depiction of the aristocratic culture of the region. A number of estate buildings are located on the premises, including a thatched grain-barn and a cow-barn from the year 1711, which is now used for concerts and art exhibitions. Since renovation in 1988, the cow-barn now hosts a concert hall with 870 seats, culinary offerings, and exhibition space at the entrance. Altenhof has since become one of the most beloved venues of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival.
