For over a century, the 5-star Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway Hotel has been a witness to the history of the island of Gran Canaria, famous for its beautiful beaches, volcanic landscape and rich culture. Since its opening in 1890, the hotel has been a landmark of Gran Canaria's social and cultural life, hosting some of the most prominent figures of the 20th and 21st centuries, such as Maria Callas, Gregory Peck or Ava Gardner.
Reopened in 2019 by Barceló Hotel Group after a thorough refurbishment, the oldest hotel in the archipelago keeps a large part of the capital's tourist history among its walls. With a privileged location in the illustrious neighbourhood of Ciudad Jardín, set inside the lush Doramas Park and close to Playa de las Canteras, each corner of its interior oozes inspiration.
