Taking the construction, development, difficulties and strengthening of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port as the overall background since the reform and opening up, the dance drama "Eastern Port" tells the passionate youth and touching past of a group of port builders. It closely and vividly combines "port, city and people" In the narrative, the struggle history of small people is integrated into the development history of the big era, so as to depict a new blueprint for Ningbo, a "modern coastal metropolis" in the new era, to "connect the port to the world".
The dance drama "Eastern Port" is jointly created by the emerging young choreographers born in the 1980s in China - Wang Sisi and Qian Xin. The famous playwright Luo Huaizhen serves as a literary consultant. In addition, there are also young composer Wang Zhe and a first-level stage design designer of the National Theater of China. Liu Kedong, national first-class stage and lighting designer Zhou Zhengping, China Opera and Dance Theater chief costume designer Yang Donglin, multimedia designer Hu Tianji, styling designer Wang Yan, executive choreographers Wu Miao and Dong Wenjie and other domestic first-class creatives have joined the cast. At the same time, the script is written by Ma Lingshan, a young screenwriter of the Ningbo Performing Arts Group, and starred by Xia Xia, an outstanding young actor from the Ningbo Song and Dance Theater.
