The hot boy band's wild dance moves have taken the world by storm.

Malevo, Argentina’s electrifying all-male ensemble, has become a worldwide sensation and one of the hottest tickets on the planet, selling out shows from Las Vegas and New York to London, Paris and Sydney.

Re-envisioning the traditional malambo folk dance and transforming it into a breathtaking spectacle for contemporary audiences, these dynamic artists personify the passion, strength and warrior spirit of Argentina’s legendary gauchos. The virtuosity, vitality and sheer bravado of their dancing has received rave reviews and more than one million views on YouTube.

An electrifying explosion of music and dance from Argentina.
A stomping, spinning spectacle - an all-male sensation like no other.

Malevo, the all-male dance group from Argentina, has become a worldwide sensation with more than one million views on YouTube. Named an official “Cultural Ambassador to the National Identity of Argentina”, the South American ensemble has given sold-out performances in major cities across the USA, Europe and Australia, and has collaborated with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Cirque du Soleil, winning rave reviews and a legion of dedicated fans.

Artistic Director Matías Jaime founded Malevo to re-envision the traditional malambo folk dance for contemporary audiences, staying true to its heritage while elevating and modernising it by fusing its classic techniques with flamenco and other genres, and adding a live band on stage.

Malambo was handed down from the gauchos, the cowboys of Argentina’s plains, who danced to entertain and compete with each other. It incorporates elements of their everyday life (such as displaying their skills with the boleadoras, a type of lasso) and reflects Argentina’s melting pot of cultures, from West African to Irish to Spanish. Malambo’s hallmarks include dazzling percussive footwork, with impossibly intricate rhythms performed at breakneck pace, and the playing of bombos, drums which create a fierce, pulsating rhythm, plunging the audience into an extraordinary sensory experience unlike any other.

Malevo’s exceptional artists are masters of every aspect of this electrifying art form. As they spin, leap and stomp, the vertiginous speed and ferocious energy of their dancing, and their strength, fluidity, astonishing control and masculine grace, all combine to create a breathtaking spectacle which will enthral audiences of all ages.

Guangzhou Opera House - Guangzhou
Location   No.1 Zhujiang West Road, Zhujiang New Town, Tianhe District

Guangzhou Opera House is a Chinese opera house in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. Designed by Zaha Hadid, it opened on the 9th of May in 2010.

In April 2002 an international architectural competition attracted Coop Himmelb(l)au, Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid – each producing detailed designs. In November 2002, Zaha Hadid's "double pebble" was announced the winner and the groundbreaking ceremony was held early in 2005.

The theatre has become the biggest performing centre in southern China and is one of the three biggest theatres in the nation alongside Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts and Shanghai's Shanghai Grand Theatre. May 2010 saw American filmmaker Shahar Stroh direct the premiere production of the opera house: Puccini's opera Turandot which had in previous years been a controversial opera in China.

The structure was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. It is conceived as two rocks washed away by the Pearl River. Its freestanding concrete auditorium set within an exposed granite and glass-clad steel frame took over five years to build, and was praised upon opening by architectural critic Jonathan Glancey in The Guardian, who called it "at once highly theatrical and insistently subtle."
