Interprets the turbulent undercurrents in a peaceful life.
Tells about a woman's love, desire and freedom.
Describes the confusion, struggle and awakening of a soul.

"You are very similar to the sea... Alinda, in my opinion, you are a 'terrible' character. You are particularly charming." - "The Collected Works of Ibsen: The Lady of the Sea" (translated by Pan Jiaxun)

A dance drama adaptation of the works of drama master Henrik Ibsen.

The dance drama "Lady from the Sea" is adapted from the play of the same name by the Norwegian drama master Henrik Ibsen. Ibsen is known as the " Father of Modern Drama ", and this work is one of his later works. Different from social satires represented by "An Enemy of the People", in "Lady from the Sea", Ibsen's focus for the first time shifts from social issues to the lonely, rich and struggling inner world of individual human beings , telling the story of the heroine Irene Da struggles between responsibility, marriage, desire and freedom .

The dance drama version of "Lady from the Sea" is directed and performed by the well-known dancer Wang Yabin. Different from the drama version where lines are king, the work does not contain a single word in the whole play, using body parts to show Alinda's complex and profound heart.

Directed and performed by Wang Yabin

From the lively but tragic Chinese Xiao Yanqiu in the original "Tsing Yi" to the Norwegian Elida struggling with love and temptation in this dance drama version of "Lady from the Sea" , this is Wang Yabin, a co-artist and dancer of the National Dance Theater The seventh work under the "Female Theme" (in addition to the work "She Said M-Dao" commissioned by the English National Ballet's Global Women's Choreography Initiative, and the work "Wonderful Women Invisible" commissioned by the American Dance Festival for its 85th anniversary performance After "Tangled", the stage version of "Lady from the Sea" commissioned by the Hilden Theater in Norway, the ballet "My Name is Lilac" commissioned by the Suzhou Ballet), and the work "Swan, a Different Story" commissioned by the Lucerne Theater in Switzerland. A creation based on a "female theme".

The work is directed and performed by Wang Yabin . Based on the drama text, it resets the perspective of the story to show how the heroine Alinda deals with memories of the past, how to face the current environment and the judgment of visiting the unknown world, to reveal the independent will of women. Awakening . In this way, the work attempts to explore what status and role women occupy in the entire social structure, and whether women can gain the right to choose their life status during their life course .

In order to better interpret and present Ibsen's original work and its connotation, this work invited Birgit Amalie Nilssen, artistic director of Kilden Teater in Norway, to serve as a drama consultant. To ensure the final artistic presentation of the work, respect for the original work comes first. In terms of music presentation, Wang Yabin specially invited the well-known Norwegian pianist and composer Ketil Bjørnstad to be the composer, using music to show the alienation, calmness, fear, passion, struggle and freedom that Alinda has experienced.

Guangzhou Opera House is a Chinese opera house in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. Designed by Zaha Hadid, it opened on the 9th of May in 2010.

In April 2002 an international architectural competition attracted Coop Himmelb(l)au, Rem Koolhaas and Zaha Hadid – each producing detailed designs. In November 2002, Zaha Hadid's "double pebble" was announced the winner and the groundbreaking ceremony was held early in 2005.

The theatre has become the biggest performing centre in southern China and is one of the three biggest theatres in the nation alongside Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts and Shanghai's Shanghai Grand Theatre. May 2010 saw American filmmaker Shahar Stroh direct the premiere production of the opera house: Puccini's opera Turandot which had in previous years been a controversial opera in China.

The structure was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. It is conceived as two rocks washed away by the Pearl River. Its freestanding concrete auditorium set within an exposed granite and glass-clad steel frame took over five years to build, and was praised upon opening by architectural critic Jonathan Glancey in The Guardian, who called it "at once highly theatrical and insistently subtle."
