Giulio Mastrototaro (Riva del Garda, 27 December 1979) is an Italian baritone specialized in the buffo and semi-serious repertoire.
He completed his musical studies at the Claudio Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano, in 2000 he was Martino in The Chance of Rossini directed by Nicola Luisotti in Trento, in 2001 Conte Robinson in The Marriage Secret of Cimarosa at the Teatro Umberto Giordano in Foggia, 2002 the sacristan in Tosca (opera) at the Teatro Massimo Vincenzo Bellini in Catania and in 2004 he won the As.Li.Co Competition in Milan for the role of Belcore in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, he is Pietro in The carpenter of Livonia (Donizetti) with Claudio Sgura at the Valle d'Itria Festival in Martina Franca and Kilian in Il franco cacciatore at the Teatro Malibran for the Fenice in Venice.
He has collaborated with the most important Italian theaters and festivals, including San Carlo di Napoli, Comunale di Firenze, Comunale di Bologna, Santa Cecilia and Costanzi di Roma, Rossini Opera Festival of Pesaro, and European ones such as: Salzburg Festival , Bregenz Festival, Theater an der Wien in Vienna, the Monnaie in Brussels, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Festival Rossini in Wildbad among others.
He sang under the direction of Riccardo Muti, Alberto Zedda, Nicola Luisotti, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Giovanni Antonini, Ottavio Dantone, Dmitri and Vladimir Jurowski, Ulf Schirmer.
