Overview

One year late, we will present our homage to Ludwig van Beethoven on October 31, 2021 for his 200th birthday. It starts with the Triple Concerto, which Beethoven may have composed in 1804 for his piano student Archduke Rudolf. The musicians of the Haydn Chamber Ensemble play with us. And then we dare to “the fifth”, often heard, just as numerous worked and processed, and yet always exciting.

Since the XVIII century, the interiors begin to be converted into the style of classicism. The composer Joseph Haydn lived and worked in the Palace for a long time. Many of his works were performed here for the first time for members of the princely family.

After world war II, the castle housed the Burgenland government and the national court. Formally, the owner of the estate continues to be considered Esterhazy.
