Spanish soprano Elena Sancho-Pereg’s most recent and future engagements include Second Niece Peter Grimes Teatro Pérez Galdósin Las Palmas, Blondchen Die Entführung aus dem Serail Sedieres Festival in France, Sofia Il Signor Bruschino British Youth Opera and Adina L’Elisir d’Amore Asociación Gayarre Amigos de la Ópera in Pamplona. Next, she performs Maria West Side Story Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburg Staatsoper, Colosseum Theater in Essen and Théâtre du Châtelet.
Born in San Sebastian, Elena graduated at Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid in 2007 studying with Ramon Regidor, and has completed her Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she performed The Queen of England L’Assedio di Calais, L’Ensoleillad Cherubin, and Miss Wordsworth Albert Herring. Her studies at GMSD were supported by the Guildhall Trust and Diputación de Guipuzcoa. Elena also attended the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, Italy.
In concert, Elena has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Coronation Mass, and Litaniae de Venerabili Altaris Sacramento; Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater; Michael Haydn’s Vespers in F; Vivaldi’s Gloria, and made her debut with London Handel Festival singing Handel’s Messiah. Elena made her debut at the Barbican with the London Symphony Orchestra in Alasdair Nicholson’s Two sisters, A rose, A flood and Snow: Four Tales of Enchantment.
She is the winner of the second prize at the Gayarre International Competition, the first prize at the Concurso Internacional de Logroño 2010, and the winner of the Hispánica Constructora Accésit Prize, The Operatic Role Prize in the Luis Mariano Competition XI Edition and the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid.
