Serbian baritone David Bizic made his Royal Opera debut in 2012 as Schaunard (La bohème) and has since returned to sing Albert (Werther).
Bizic was born in Belgrade and studied at the opera studios of Israeli Opera and Paris Opéra. In 2007 he was an award-winner at Operalia. Engagements include Leporello and Masetto (Don Giovanni), Schaunard, Mathieu (Andrea Chénier) and Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) for Paris Opéra, Albert and Marcello for Metropolitan Opera, New York, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) for Angers-Nantes Opéra, Vlaamse Opera and in Monte Carlo, Strasbourg, Bordeaux and Geneva, Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) in Saint Etienne, Masetto for Aix-en-Provence Festival and Teatro Real, Madrid, Leporello for Bolshoi Theatre, Deutsche Oper Berlin, LA Opera, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, Vienna State Opera, Ravinia Festival and in Toulouse, Rennes and Montpellier, Don Giovanni for Slovene National Theatre and Opéra de Rouen, Eugene Onegin in Limoges, Publio (La clemenza di Tito) in Avignon, Strasbourg and Montpellier, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) and Escamillo (Carmen) in Belgrade and Escamillo and High Priest (Samson et Dalilia) for Royal Swedish Opera.
Bizic’s concert engagements include Fauré’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in A flat and Haydn’s Nelson Mass with Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Bordeaux, Avignon, Toulon and Montpellier, Faure’s Requiem with Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Manuel (La vida breve) in concert with Orchestre de Paris and Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem for the Serbian Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television.
