Tenor DANIEL JOHANSSON was born in Sweden and studied at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm.
In 2007 he won the first prize in the Gösta Winbergh competition and Wilhelm Stenhammar competition. He has received several scholarships, for instance by the Swedish Royal College of Music and by the Anders Wall Foundation, as well as the 2009 Birgit Nilsson scholarship. Among his many roles are Tamino, Rodolfo, Telemaco, Alfredo, Narraboth, Pinkerton, Alfred, Florestan, Froh, Lenski, Lohengrin, Nemorino, Cavaradossi, Don José and Hoffmann. He has performed at Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, in Helsinki, Oslo, Brussels, at Semperoper, Theater an der Wien, Bregenz Festival, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, in Geneva and New York. Most recently, he has sung in Bregenz (Don José), Stockholm (Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Alfredo, Rodolfo), at Finnish National Opera (Rodolfo, Don José), Semperoper (Froh, Don José) and at Norske Opera (Cavaradossi, Don José).
