Overview

Full of entrancing comedy, joke-splitting dialogues, and razor-sharp criticism of the conditions of its time, DER TALISMAN is one of the great masterpieces by Johann Nepomuk Nestroy. Nestroy is "the first German satirist" whose language, "thinks about things" is how Karl Kraus described Nestroy's outstanding language skills. The directors and theater directors couple Kaja Dymnicki and Alexander Pschill, who caused a sensation on the Viennese stage Bronski & Grünberg, are known for their fast-paced, narrative, witty and clever staging style. When Titus saved the hairdresser Marquis from an accident and was given a black wig as a thank you, his life suddenly took a turn: With a new hair color he became the object of the desire of three competing widows and nothing stood in the way of social advancement in the castle ...
