Overview

The two artists are convinced: "This journey will change us all!"

"Our cycle brings a paradigm shift in Beethoven interpretation", says conductor Jan Caeyers. He founded the chamber orchestra Le Concert Olympique in order to realise his vision of a Beethoven sound. With pianist Kit Armstrong, he has found an ideal partner to traverse Beethoven’s oeuvre, from symphony to solo concerto and piano sonata, in nine stages.

Beethovenhalle - Bonn
Location   Wachsbleiche 16

Situated on the banks of the Rhine in Bonn, the Beethovenhalle stands as one of Germany’s most important cultural venues, deeply connected to the musical legacy of Ludwig van Beethoven, who was born in the city. Opened in 1959, the hall has long been a symbol of Bonn’s identity as a center of classical music and artistic excellence.

The building is a striking example of post-war modernist architecture, combining clean lines with spacious interiors designed for both visual elegance and acoustic quality. Its main auditorium is celebrated for its warm, balanced sound, making it an ideal setting for symphonic concerts, recitals, and large-scale musical events.

Beethovenhalle has traditionally hosted performances by leading orchestras, conductors, and soloists from around the world. It is also closely associated with the Beethovenfest, an internationally renowned festival dedicated to Beethoven’s music and its influence, which brings exceptional artists to the city each year.

Beyond classical music, the venue accommodates a wide range of cultural events, including conferences, contemporary concerts, and special performances, reflecting its versatility and ongoing relevance.

Currently undergoing extensive renovation, Beethovenhalle is being carefully restored to preserve its historic character while enhancing its technical capabilities for the future.

A landmark of musical heritage and modern design, Beethovenhalle continues to embody the spirit of Beethoven and the enduring power of live performance in Bonn.
