About
Arian Andiel from Graz began working in the theater during his studies in photography, information design and exhibition design. Based on his work as a dance and theater photographer, he quickly developed an interest in video design as well as in the closely linked video technology, which led him regularly to the Salzburg Festival from 2009 to 2015. There he met Claus Guth for the first time in 2009 as part of his Mozart-da Ponte cycle. Since he supervised Guth's Monteverdi cycle at the Theater an der Wien, a regular collaboration has developed, including 2016 at Handel's Jephta in Amsterdam. 2017 Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito in Glyndebourne and 2017 Puccini's La Bohème in Paris.
After the Old Testament (in cooperation with Roland Horvath, roca film) Lulu is now his second work at the Grazer Schauspielhaus and his first collaboration with Markus Bothe. Recent further productions include Johannes Maria Staud's The Willows at the Vienna State Opera (directed by Andrea Moses, world premiere 12/2018), Beat Furrer's Violet Snow at the Staatsoper unter den Linden, Berlin (directed by Claus Guth, world premiere 01/2019 and Handel's Orlando am Theater at the Vienna (directed by Claus Guth, premiere 04/2019)
Besides the work in the stage area Arian Andiel u.a. also active in various media productions.
