About
French tenor Abel Zamora is distinguished by a warm, silken timbre and refined musicality. A laureate of Talent ADAMI 2023 and Fonds Tutti 2024, he trained at the Département Supérieur pour Jeunes Chanteurs in Paris and the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon. He also won 2nd Prize in the Concours National Thomas Kuti (2022) and the Grand Prix de la Mélodie Française at Opus Artis Paris (2023). In the 2024–25 season, his engagements include Don Ottavio (with Arcal), Parpignol in *La Bohème*, and Nemorino in productions at Théâtre des Champs‑Élysées and Opéra National de Bordeaux. His voice is praised for its “seductive timbre,” “excellent diction,” and presence that commands attention on stage.
Abel Zamora first made his operatic debut in 2022 at the Opéra de Toulon in *La Périchole* by Offenbach. He later joined the Académie Favart at Opéra‑Comique (2023–24), where he performed roles including Amant Fortuné in Lully’s *Armide* and the tenor solo in Stravinsky’s *Pulcinella*.
His repertoire spans Mozart (Tamino, Basilio, Don Ottavio) to baroque and contemporary works. He has participated in premieres such as *Merveille* (Rigal) at the Opéra de Paris and the adaptation *L’Affaire Clemenza* (Krawczyk).
Critics have highlighted his vocal expressivity: *“a voice with a soft, hushed timbre that immediately attracts attention,”* and lauded his clarity in articulation and phrasing.
In chamber music, Abel is half of the duo Autekia (with pianist Félix Moussiegt). Their ensemble was awarded the SEAM Prize for Commitment to Contemporary Music during the 2025 Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon.
Already a familiar voice on festivals and recitals, he continues expanding his presence on opera houses and concert stages across Europe.
