Mat­tia Oli­vieri, born in Sas­suolo (Italy) in 1984, star­ted very young his vocal stu­dies at the G.B. Mar­tini Music Con­ser­va­tory in Bolo­gna and at the G.B. Per­go­lesi Music Con­ser­va­tory in Fermo, then spe­cia­li­zing under the bari­ton Mau­ri­zio Leoni in Bolo­gna.
 

He took part to various scho­lar­ships and master­clas­ses and in 2009 was admit­ted to the Scuola dell’Opera Ita­liana in Bolo­gna.

He made his ope­ra­tic debut in 2008 and soon per­for­med Papa­geno in Il flauto magico within an opera edu­ca­tio­nal pro­ject that tou­red nume­rous Ita­lian thea­ters and Gior­gio in La gazza ladra in Bolo­gna con­duc­ted by Michele Mariotti and col­la­bo­ra­ted with Festi­val della Valle d’Itria in Mar­tina Franca, Tea­tro Lirico in Cagliari, Carlo Felice in Genoa, Dre­sd­ner Sem­per Oper.

In 2012 he was Don Pru­den­zio in Il viag­gio a Reims with the Ros­sini Aca­demy in Pesaro; in Sep­tem­ber he star­ted in the Cen­tre de Per­fec­cio­na­ment in Valen­cia, where he per­for­med in M.F.Caballero’s Zar­zuela El duo de la afri­cana (Che­ru­bini) and in La Bohème (Schou­nard) con­duc­ted by Ric­cardo Chailly.

Among his last and future enga­ge­ments: Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in Valen­cia and in Nice, Fabri­zio in Cri­spino e la comare at the Mar­tina Franca Festi­val, Schau­nard il La Bohéme in Sao Paulo, the title-role in Don Gio­vanni in Palermo, Ping in Turan­dot at the Arena di Verona, Nardo in La finta giar­di­niera with the Glyn­de­bourne Tour, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in Nice, Esca­millo in Car­men in Genoa, Bel­core in L’elisir d’amore in Cagliari, Schau­nard in La bohème and Bel­core in L’elisir d’amore at La Scala, the title role in Don Gio­vanni in Trie­ste, his debut as Mar­cello in La Bohème in Athens and then in Sao Paulo and as Figaro in Il bar­biere di Sivi­glia in Nice, Szymanovsky’s Sta­bat Mater in Bari, Ping in Turan­dot and Donizetti’s Requiem at Bre­genz Festi­val, Bel­core in L’Elisir d’amore in Valen­cia, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at the Rome Opera and his return at La Scala with Masetto in Don Gio­vanni and as Schau­nard.
